The Organization of Chinese American Women making joong prior to the Dragon Boat Festival in Washington DC. Lookup “Dragon Boat ” and “Joong” for the detailed story of how this tradition came about. This is a demonstration of one way to wrap the bambo and how to recover if the leave splits open. The OCAW is a non-profit that promotes civil rights activism and issues in support of chinese-american women.

Learn how to make a Joong (zhongzi). If you haven’t eaten a homemade Joong, you haven’t experienced the full flavor of Cantonese cooking. In this video, my Aunts show us the Ancient Chinese Way. We make a record 170 Joongs!
