The office didn’t invent this style. It’s “documentary style” and borrowed from documentary film making. This style has been used many times — Christopher Guest movies, Woody Allen’s “Take the Money and Run” (Check those out too — since you obviously haven’t seen them) This Peacock thing is kinda funny and I needed a laugh.
